MRT really sucks!

Well whaddaya know. I was just  ranting about MRT  few days back and guess what???  I was late last Friday all because of MRT! I swear it's the worst train station ever! ever! (well, I've never been to India, or Sri Lanka, or Bangladesh.... but still ) Argh! 45 mins queuing from the side of EDSA q.ave to the stairs...then 15 to 20 mins queuing up inside the platform.. Was there at 7:30, was able to ride  8: 50.. that fcking long! And as if it couldn't get any worse than that that,   rush hour 6 pm, Friday, after work, going home. STOP ENTRT in effect. I had to queue again for 15 mins just to go to the platform, then I took the round trip and by the time  we get to to the last station  which is TAFT,  instead of sitting comfortably, was told  to get out because the the shitty train had  problems! WTF! Long story short, I ended up standing the whole train ride!  got stuck with morons!

Well, with all the rant, I still prefer riding the train, than get stuck in EDSA.traffic.

Napster Documentary

Cool Documentary is from Alex Winter - who starred in Bill and Teds movies with Keanu Reeves

But Bill and Ted never saw anything as cool as Winter's documentary Downloaded: The Digital Revolution, which receives its world premiere March 10 at the interactive/music/film South by Southwest Festival in Austin. It tells how two teenagers, Shawn Fanning and Sean Parker, reinvented the music industry, got crushed and still managed to get rich with such game-changers as Facebook and Spotify.

Downloaded is about the epochal file-sharing service Napster, dreamed up in 1999, when Fanning was a college dropout living in the closet of his uncle's office.

Winter's film might remind people of the forgotten fact that it was Napster that inspired the first social networking giant Friendster, which Facebook supplanted. "Napster wasn't really about music," says Winter. "To me, Napster was a global community where there had never been one."  Read Full article via Hollywood Reporter

 I wanna see this film.

Solution sucks!

Two wrongs don't make it right but  folks at MRT doesn't see that way!  If you don't the ride MRT everyday rush hour morning and evening, and get stuck with (mostly) morons everyday, you wouldn't understand the rant! The point of riding  shitty MRT is to avoid  EDSA traffic, so why offer chartered bus (only for single journey tickets, mind you!) that will ply the EDSA route knowing it's traffic during rush hour?  Solution sucks! That's all they can offer to the commuters queuing for 30 mins everyday just to get inside the MRT platform and another 20 mins to get inside the train. How about skipping train the minute they see that platform packed with commuters. Ugh!

So view me baby

Yes! A new dress for my blog to bring in for advert money, hopefully! Oh yeah, I'm back as you can see. I'll probably have more of random reviews of restaurants and lean towards  food blog. I'm into food trips.  I wanna check out the restaurants at Maginhawa Street. In the meantime. One  that I'll recommend is 77 resto/bar in Kamuning.. It's good place to unwind. I'll blog more  when I have the photos, it's still my sister camera.

Social Media and Television.. news

I saw this via Mashable How Social Media is Changing the Business of Television. That is so true.

The nightly new shows here have something new to offer the viewing public. See, every time I watch, I noticed that anchors have now been equip with iPads. Before they will just read the new paper and teleprompter. Now, they will will blah blah with the top headlines news and then flip their iPads, they instantly read reactions of views via twitter or FB thereby engaging the viewing public to participate. Socializing with everyone real time, we get to know the pulse and opinion. Pretty soon will probably have SNN... Social News Network. Heh.

Now showing on US politics, John Boehner!

I'm still for Mitt Romney for 2012!

Just for the record I'm hardly a pundit. I'm not American nor do I live in the US. However I'm more fascinated with whats happening there more than what's going here. Politics sucks, and politicians gobble it all up.

Anyway, this post is about the recent victory of Republicans in Midterm elections. With the victory, the GOP regained control of congress. John Boehner, will be the incoming speaker of the House.

From NY Daily:
It was a scene straight out of "Mad Men" - chain-smoking Don Draper denouncing "addictive" cigarettes after his ad agency lost a big tobacco account.

Except it was Rep. John Boehner - speaker of the House-in-waiting - on Election Night, enthusiastically ripping into the city that made him what he is.

"For too long, Washington has been doing what's best for Washington, not what's best for the American people," said the man who would be third in line to the presidency.

The sounds of jaws dropping filled the air. Here was a man who epitomized Washington denying he ever had anything to do with the place. The fictional Don Draper would have been proud.

In many ways, Boehner is the Don Draper of D.C. - a chain-smoking, unapologetic Midwesterner in a sharp suit straight out of America, circa 1962. Read more

CNN:

Who is John Boehner? Among friends, he's just one of the guys.

During Boehner's time in Congress, he's also earned a reputation among reporters and colleagues as having a laid-back demeanor and a penchant for wisecracks. On Thursday, when questioned by ABC's Diane Sawyer about the possibility of a "Slurpee summit" with President Obama, Boehner responded, "I don't know about a Slurpee. How about a glass of merlot?" Well, suddenly 2012 seems fast approaching. No Palin, please!

OMH! (Oh My Hamm!)

Jon Hamm what the hell are you doing? I like that you take risks and appear (the very first time) ON SNL. And as much as I like the show, I wish that you just stick to Mad Men and be Don Draper! Suave and elegant and classy, gritty, smart, and powerful ad man!

I betcha' Don Draper would never appear on SNL!

White is purity, empty is bare

Good morning. Why the hell am I still awake? I've been trying to do some html geeky coding with the other test page. I took a break and browsed the web, read some articles and blogs. Now I'm set to rest my sleepy eyes.

I've had this blog since 2002 and but for the last 6 years the layout has been bare of any clutter save for links, blog archives and the about blah blah. I wanted a new template for this blog without having too much crap. I'll dress you dear blog.. soon.

In the meantime, after 3 years I'm no longer a monkey slave to time and pressure. It's been about a month and half since I tendered the paper to the higher ups. After that, I've been looking and I've been lucky but had to decline two and the other one, I didn't continue. In hindsight, I probably should have accepted the offer.

Anyway, I have a lot of time to spare now hence tinkering with the bare site. Heh. I feel empty just like this blog post.

Last year this time, I woke up in Misery

Typhoon Ondoy (Ketsana) left us all in a state of calamity and sorrow. It rained non stop for 6 hours and brought everything to a halt. The floods buried the metro in helpless situation. It was worse than what happened in New Orleans. Google if you need to, so you'll know what I mean. Check Flickr, You Tube, Facebook too. Click to see large version of the print screen images.
