The applause and the standing ovation really should be to Andy Roddick. What a heart breaker losing 14-16 in the fifth set.
The match just finished and what can I say Andy Roddick was the better player throughout. If anybody deserves to win.. it should have been him. But it's not to be.The sad dejected look on his face just tells it all after the last point, sauntering back to to the chair and during the presentation.. it's clearly a pain. Sadness on his face. He can't even force a smile during the photo op. He tried but can't. It's hard to even fake a smile. Losing is not something you just brush off. It's not something you just set aside and say.. ah there will be other times because... on Sunday afternoon Roddick really should have won Wimbledon.
Roger Federer rejoicing winning Wimbledon. His 15th grand slam. Disgusting though.. the patronizing words he made to Andy. The look on Roddick's face said it all.
Hats off to Andy Roddick. He is my winner.. and I think majority will agree with that.
What happened earlier watching match with Roddick losing when he really should have won.. reminded me golf and Sergio Garcia losing the Open Championship when clearly he deserved to have won. Same thing with what happened to Jean Van de Velde.

Hooray For Andre
This good news from AP via yahoo.
Andre Agassi won his match against James Blake at the US open. He still has the magic and just the sheer energy to come up with unbelievable shots and like everyone was cheering for him. Classic Andre. Vintage moves. Man, I hope he wins the open.NEW YORK (AP) -- Andre Agassi bounded onto the court with the joyful grin of a child, his eyes wide as he soaked in the adoring cheers of the U.S. Open crowd.
At 35, he is ageless, his tennis a timeless classic.
When the match finally ended at 1:09 Thursday morning, Arthur Ashe Stadium was still full and fans at home were mesmerized, knowing they'd been treated to something rare.

No more Mr. Nice Guy
Pete Sampras is retiring. He will make it official come Monday at the start of the US OPEN. One less laidback guy in the world of tennis. He really is one of the best there is and I guess at 31 the mind is willing but the body isn't anymore (Different in the case of Agassi though). Why am I blogging about this..heck, I like Tennis! Yeah, Go Andy! Teehee :) Meanwhile another superstar, Kobe Bryant, is retiring ehh...in the courthouse...jail I think.

For the love of game!
Who said tennis is boring sport!?! I watched the Roddick and Younes match and it was such a really really wonderful one! I was screaming on top my lungs and I kept shouting "Go Roddiiiickkk, breakl serve." Must be nice to have been there and be part of the crowd. The game went to a fifth set. Because there's no tie, it went one and one and on and on.. it ended when Roddick broke serve and I was shouting so loud here! the score ended at 21-19 and too bad, only one has to win..the two players were sooooo really great to watch! Andy won of course! Hahahaa. Wahooo!
