9/11 I weep for you
I always remember September 11, 2001. I'm not American but I don't have to be one to share the grief, sadness and anger with what transpired 9 years ago. I remember what I was doing and where was I when it happened. It was evening, (local time here) I was chatting online and surfing the net but at the same time watching t.v. in my room. Breaking news flashed on the screen and I see that World Trade Center is burning. Pentagon, Pennsylvania also reported that planes have crashed.
Tower one was burning I saw the planes from the news footage, smashed through the towers. I remember being shocked and awed and stayed throughout the evening into the morning not turning off the t.v. but watched all the news from CNN.
I wept when they showed people trapped inside the burning tower, choosing to jump to save their lives. 40 stories, high even 30 or 20 they all jumped one by one and I shamelessly cried when I saw the images. I wept watching the news and when people couldn't find their love ones in their state of panic. I wept seeing them tired and crying helpless, wandering and wondering where are their families. Even news reporters and anchors couldn't stop the tears flowing from their quivered voices. It was hard for them report on the scene without feeling any emotions.
9/11 changed everything. The way American views things, the way they see the future and how to deal with Muslims. Somehow, America is not safe anymore. Americans are wary and it is understandable. All you have to do is to remember that sunny morning of September 11, 2001 a little over past 8 a.m. A piece of safety and security broken by radicals of Al Qaeda.

I Dont Think There Should be a Mosque near Ground Zero
But that's just my opinion....
Building a mosque (more like community center with a mosque inside, developer said) so close to the heart of pain and suffering that 9/11 brought to the people, is an 'insult to New Yorkers.'
I think sensitivity is an issue and a big factor. And yes, have people forgotten 9/11?
The proposed mosque by the Cordoba Initiative is stirring up heated debates for those oppose and in favor. Read more via CBS. See the comments too. People have a lot to say too.

The question to ask and ponder ... why there? Why the land? Who is funding that? Is it really for cultural identity and to foster relations (with the west or other faiths). Questions left unanswered. So the skeptics.
Okay so American Muslims and Muslims in general are good people. It's the terrorist, extremist and radicals that makes the Muslims bad.
There is nothing wrong building that community center/mosque. They do have good intentions. They need a place where they can gather, pray, worship, teach, foster good relations and mainly a center for the majority of Muslims who needs help whether it be jobs or lawyers, for recreational purposes or just for everyday community center.
I know what they want to achieve with the center/mosque. I'm not an American and I don't live in the US much less NY but if I am...I would want something like that. One that would cater to my culture, where I don't have to feel indifferent because of my race or my faith.
However, building a mosque in NY gives Bin Laden (if he still alive.. is he?) another chance to wipe out New Yorkers. Americans. Al Qaeda and the extremists took years planning that 9/11 attack . A planned mosque/center for Muslims is easy mechanism for extremists. The center can be a tool they can use and service their needs for something that we should all be vigilant
C'mon. Be a realist. Everyone knows what's going to happen if a mosque is to be build in New York so close to ground zero.

9/11 Redux
In 2006, I blogged about this poem of Andrei Codrescu published in NPR. org. Today, I'm gonna reblog it again. This time with the poem in it's entirety. I like this one.
9/11, I can barely remember you, they’ve buried you in so much hype!
9/11 I wept when you were first on television! I wept for New York, for the dead, for all of us, for myself, for the world!
9/11, I was sure that the world had changed forever because bad guys wanted America dead and hated us because we listen to rock 'n' roll and wear no miniskirts on our naked faces!
9/11, I cheered when our warplanes ripped through the skies of Afghanistan scorching the caves where our enemies burrowed and I marveled at our precision-guided bombs -- trying to ignore their occasionally murderous imprecision!
9/11, I sat mesmerized in front of Fox News and CNN as the gargoyled faces of the Cold War began crawling out of the musty cellars of history and, eyes unaccustomed to light, blinking, began to spout the doctrines of Total War!
9/11, I started to feel sorry for you when retired generals, admirals, spies, loonies and fakes brushed off their swords and rushed to your defense! So many double-chins! So many watering eyes! So many dentured grins and brush haircuts! So many double-bottom suitcases clutched in so many pimp-ringed hands! They even brought Ollie North from felonious disgrace to stand up for you with his Constitution-overthrowing boyish old looks!
9/11, I felt bad for you when the Lefties crowded you from the other side with their guilt-filled jaws of "I told you so," and their eternal excuses for the wretched exotics of the world whose suffering they experience in their marble-topped kitchens between arguments about what wine to serve with the wild rice! And I wept for you again, when soured professors who missed the collapse of commie fascism in 1989 descended on you like rabid wolverines led by Noam Chomsky, whose teeth marks are all over the zero ground of American academia!
9/11, you saved the paranoids from self-cannibalism!
9/11, you were a boon to advertisers and publicists and flag manufacturers, and they sold you with cars and pizzas and they drained you of your raw primal power even as they pretended to grieve for you! Zero down payment until Doomsday!
9/11, you were a godsend to poetasters who were out of the gate lamenting and whining before your towers even gave out!
9/11, your dead and your heroes are covered by thick layers of ash and greed and the Republic owes you an apology...
9/11, I close my eyes and recall you in all your gory glory and I still hate those who did this to us and to our greatest city.

Have People Already Forgotten What Happened Eight Years Ago?
Today is September 11 where I'm from. I'm not American, but I'll always remember what happened that day... it was night here as I live in Asia. I will never forget what I saw on my t.v screen.
On that day fateful day of September 11, 2001 America broke down. Mourning and weeping.
I cried when when I saw people jump from the windows of Twin Towers. I cried when I saw the towers collapsed. I cried when saw people looking for their loved ones. I cried and cried with the events I saw on television. Multiple terror attacks in the US; the bombing at the Pentagon, the plane crashed in Pennsylvania and most especially the terror that hit New York as the hijacked plane smashed into the Twin Towers and we saw the building on fire and collapsed.
It's just sad that people seemed to have forgotten it. I'm not sure but I know every year there is a commemoration. They read the names of those who perished and every time I watch it, I still get shivers and I tear up.

The madman and his cohorts
The 9/11 anniversary just two days away, Al- Quaeda shows a video of Bin Laden and other hijackers planning the seed of terror that would become 9/11.
Video footage in which Osama bin Laden is shown meeting some of the hijackers responsible for the 11 September attacks on New York and Washington was aired last night on al-Jazeera television. In the film Bin Laden is seen sitting with Mohammed Atef, a former lieutenant, and Ramzi Binalshibh, another suspected planner of the suicide hijackings. Bin Laden is also shown greeting several of what the tape said were the hijackers. The film, produced by As-Sahab, al-Qa'ida's media branch. (Belfast Telegraph)
All I can say is bless this world we live in. Get those terrorists!

The planned war
Planning the 9/11 terror plot started way back in '96

.....that the original plan called for hijacking five commercial jets on each U.S. coast before it was modified several times, ......Mohammed told his interrogators he had worked in 1994 and 1995 in the Philippines with Ramzi Yousef, Abdul Hakim Murad and Wali Khan Amin Shah on the foiled Bojinka plot to blow up 12 Western airliners simultaneously in Asia.
Yeah, that Bojinka plot was foiled here in the Philippines...thats why this country is always being mentioned as hotbed for terrorist. Anyhow, US intelligence should do more to intercept and to act more fast(er) to prevent acts of terrorism from happening again in that magnitude of September 11.

Two years after the attack they've move on but they haven't forgotten
Poignancy sets in as America remembers the tragedy that hit them September 11,2001 because of the acts of man whos main goal in life is to kill people in order for Americans to leave the role of superpower being. And that man Bin laden has purpotedly resurfaced and seems to be telling the U.S too that he is alive and that he will continue the terrorist acts he's been doing. They really need to capture him!
